Profile:
Julie is an experienced Social Worker and Case Manager who has worked in the statutory, charitable, and private sector for over 13 years.She began her career working in a community-based team for a Local Authority, working with adults who had multiple physical and/or learning disabilities, dementia, sensory loss, and mental health needs. Her role was to assess and organise appropriate support to assist individuals and their families.
Julie has also worked in a multi-disciplinary team whilst working for a charitable organisation which provided neuro rehabilitation to clients who had experienced acquired and traumatic brain injuries. Julie was the Safeguarding and Mental Capacity Lead in this service. Julie has supervisory experience, mentoring and providing line management to student Social Workers, Community Care Practitioners, Social Workers, and Occupational Therapists. Julie has also provided line management support and regular supervision sessions to support workers employed by clients. As part of Julie’s Masters degree, she completed the Best Interests Assessor Award which enables her to assess individuals under the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
